HOW TO USE CUSTOM MAPS - Author: TheBear

Download "Custom.Map.Fix.zip"," Sounds.PC.zip", and "MapMan.exe"  from http://ubisoft.tk

Be sure you know where you downloaded them to. If in doubt, download them to your desktop.

Install your XIII patch files..
Extract the files in "XIII.Custom.Map.Fix.zip" to C:\program files\ubisoft\XIII\system

HERES HOW:
double click on "custom.map.fix.zip" you just downloaded.
winzip should start (if it doesn't, go download it.)
click extract, a new window will open.
at the top you will see-   Extract to:
type in C:\program files\ubisoft\XIII\system
IMPORTANT! make sure ALLFILES and OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES is selected on the left.
Click extract.

You want these files to replace (overwrite) the one's already there.


Next, extract the file in "XIII.Sounds.PC.zip" to C:\program files\ubisoft\XIII\sounds\pc

HERES HOW:
double click on "Sounds.PC.zip" you just downloaded.
winzip will start.
click extract, a new window will open.
at the top you will see-   Extract to:
type in C:\program files\ubisoft\XIII\sounds\pc
IMPORTANT! make sure ALLFILES and OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES is selected on the left.
Click extract.

THATS IT!!! Now lets add some custom maps!

 HOW TO ADD CUSTOM MAPS

double click on the custom map you downloaded.
winzip will start.
click extract, a new window opens.
at the top you will see-   Extract to:
type in C:\program files\ubisoft\XIII\maps (IF YOU DONT DO THIS, MAPMAN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIND THEM)
also make sure ALLFILES  is selected on the left.
Click extract.

Then start mapman
In the SELECT FILE dropdown menu scroll down till you see the custom map file you just extracted.
click on it, and to the left type in the name you want it to be.
At the bottom, choose the max number of players allowed. If the map is a deathmatch make DEATHMATCH ONLY be TRUE. Other types of games would be FALSE.
Finally, click ADD TO MAP LIST.

If you are running a server, or you want the maps to download to your machine, You need to edit the XIII .INI file [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
AllowDownloads=False to [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
AllowDownloads=True Or you can load Gunsliger which will set this for you, when you add maps to it.

Please note these custom maps will often crash your system if you try to play offline against bots. They were made for online multiplayer.
